Social media platforms add a marketing element that exec want to see tangible and measurable results from. A lot of large companies boast millions of likes on Facebook, millions of views on its YouTube channel or videos and hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter. Without a doubt 20 million likes for a B2B company like Intel is successful. However, do likes, views and followers tell the whole story? Do those numbers alone tally success or convey ROI?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4d4f51;\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">There are some ways to rethink\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; color: #7b539d;\" href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2012\/08\/09\/better-social-media-measurement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">measuring the success of social media<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">. Finding ways to link to sales; Dell claims to have\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; color: #7b539d;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/1481506\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">$6.5 million<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\u00a0in sales as a direct result of its Twitter activity. Also, companies can examine consumer sentiment in social media.
